A dark lager popularised in the Bavarian region of Germany. This beer has all of the character of lager with the body of a dark beer. Serve ice-cold. OG 1040° to 1044°. Weight (Kg) 1.8kg. Brewing Volume (L) 40 pints / 23 litres. ABV approx (% vol.) 4.6%. Colour Deep Red ale. Hop / Key Ingredient Light to medium hop. Malt Medium. The Connoisseurs beer kits require 1.7kg of Unhopped  Malt Extract. 1kg of a quality brewing sugar can also be used for a lighter-bodied beer.
